REGION 6 NEWS Dallas Branch wins ASCE award for outstanding website The Dallas Branch of the Texas Section has been honored by ASCE for having the year’s best web site among large Sections and Branches. The 2015 Outstanding Section and Branch Web Site Award was given in Houston during the 2015 Multi-Region Leadership Conference for Regions 3, 6, and 7. Congratulations! Dallas website>> |
TEXAS SECTION Ward County Water Supply Project among contenders for 2015 OCEA award The Ward County project involved the design and construction of 21 groundwater wells, 65 miles of pipeline, and four booster pump stations. Designed and constructed in less than 18 months – two weeks ahead of schedule – the $100 million project, which was delivered $25 million under budget, encountered and overcame many engineering challenges. The project is one of five contenders for ASCE’s 2015 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement award, to be announced Thursday, March 26 at the Society’s OPAL Gala. DALLAS BRANCH Expert on pipeline engineering elected ASCE Fellow An actively practicing civil engineer for more than 40 years, Joseph P. Castronovo, P.E., F.ASCE, is an expert in the field of pipeline engineering, with expertise in the design and construction of large-diameter pipelines, materials selection, trenchless technologies, and condition assessment. He has been chairman of ASCE’s Pipeline Division Executive Committee, and continues to be active in various administrative and technical pipeline committees. In addition, Castronovo has served as the chairman of ASCE’s Technical Activities Committee, which is now the Committee on Technical Advancement. Castronovo, who received ASCE’s Steven D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award in 2013, has also served as associate editor of ASCE’s Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice since 2011. See more>> |
