REGION 7 NEWS Region 7 members elect two new governors Aaron M. Frits, P.E., ENV SP, M.ASCE, of Lawrence, KS, and Jeffrey A. Young, P.E., M.ASCE, of Lander, WY, were elected Region 7 Governors-Elect in ASCE’s recent officers election.  Read more about Frits’s and Young’s experience and vision for Region 7. ASCE’s 2016 president-elect elect is Norma Jean Mattei, Ph.D., P.E., F.SEI, M.COPRI, M.ASCE, of New Orleans, LA. Read her biographical outline and vision statement.

REGION 7 NEWS Workshop helps members advance Raising the Bar for engineering licensure Members from Region 7 recently joined colleagues from Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to learn techniques to help them more effectively communicate at the state level the need for future civil engineers to hold a master’s degree or equivalent as a prerequisite to licensure. The Raise the Bar Advocates and Champions Training Workshop in Memphis, TN, provided guidance on communicating the Raise the Bar message and on how state government relations efforts can advance the adoption of Raise the Bar and other licensure issues.
