Who We Are:

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a world wide engineering society which exists to further the profession of civil engineering.  ASCE does this through hosting conferences, publishing research, and writing design standards.  The New Hampshire section of ASCE is a branch of ASCE which provides resources to engineers in and around the state.  Additionally, the New Hampshire Section of ASCE is committed to professional development through monthly meetings, workshops, and networking events.

Why is Infrastructure Important?

Whether it is connecting businesses to consumers or providing clean drinking water, infrastructure is at the heart of society.  Because infrastructure is so essential to everyday activity it is critical that it be well maintained and functioning properly with continued planning, investments and use of new and emerging technologies.

The “State” of the Granite State – NH ASCE Infrastructure Report Card

As civil engineers we see ourselves as stewards of our nation’s infrastructure and are responsible for the planning and maintenance and improvements of this infrastructure.  The Report Card for New Hampshire’s Infrastructure is designed to be a report card of the national and state by state infrastructure.  Published every five years, it outlines the condition of the state’s infrastructure based on a variety of criteria and informs decision makers of what we see in our day to day jobs.  Click here for the last NH report card released in 2011.  ASCE updated its national and state by state report card in 2013, click here for more information about that.  Currently, a group of NH’s engineers from across disciplines is working to update the 2011 report.  If you are interested in helping with that, please contact Logan Johnson.
