CINCINNATI SECTION Concordia University professor named ASCE Fellow Tarek Zayed, Ph.D., P.E., P.Eng., F.ASCE, a professor and researcher at the Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Concordia University in Montreal, has been named a Fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction. Previously, Zayed was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati and then full assistant professor at North Dakota State University. CENTRAL ILLINOIS SECTION Behind the scenes with the Illinois Tech concrete canoe team Former Central Illinois Section East Branch president named Fellow Deva Kanta Borah, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASCE, a leader in the fields of civil, environmental, and agricultural engineering based in Chesapeake, VA, has been named a Fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction. He is a former president of the Central Illinois Section East Branch and has served ASCE in numerous other roles, including on technical committees.
