India Section leads huge techno-management symposium

The ASCE India Section took a leadership role in the hugely successful 2016 Kshitij conference, the annual annual techno-management symposium of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

The symposium brought together more than 60,000 students for competitions, workshops, exhibitions, and guest lectures focusing on technological advancements.

Composites structures expert earns Fellow status


Brian Uy, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASCE, a chartered civil and structural engineer in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States for over 20 years, has been named a Fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.

Uy has worked in as professor, head of school, dean, and director at the University of New South Wales, Western Sydney University, and the University of Wollongong in Australia.

Also active in ASCE, Uy served as co-chairman of the Composite Construction in Steel and Concrete VII Conference in Cairns, Australia, in 2013, sponsored by the ASCE Structural Engineering Institute.
