ST. LOUIS SECTION Section launches anniversary billboards early to promote referendum [ Courtesy St. Louis Section Originally created to publicize its 100th anniversary in October, the St. Louis Section has debuted a series of billboards earlier than planned to encourage public support for a state referendum in August on an increase in the Missouri sales tax to help fund state transportation projects. Each of four billboard designs includes a dramatic photo of an aspect of Missouri infrastructure, the Section’s anniversary logo and the message “Invest in infrastructure.” All four designs will be rotated on three electronic billboards around the Section’s geographical area. The above example, showing the Bagnell Dam in Osage, is on a fourth static billboard on I-70 in Columbia. The billboard campaign was inspired by the Georgia Section’s successful effort. Section member Paula Grahlherr of Shannon & Wilson, St. Louis, guided the billboards’ design and negotiations with the billboard company. Section website>> |
